Thank you sincerely for your first-hand post, I have enjoyed reading it and the photos!

You did right to be there, I wish I had been. Easy to say now it is all over but the nerves were terrible beforehand! How Mr Oxx and Kinane do what they do is beyond my ken.

It has been the most marvellous year and we have been blessed to have that horse :-)

Some valid points Barry. The man is a disgusting figure. However you overlook the socio-economic issues that have led to the rise of the BNP. Right-wing fundamentalism is a product of a political system that fails the very people it is meant to serve.

I feel that it is fallacious to invoke the spirit of WWII in an argument that is essentially about a failed colonialism that led to mass immigration, a failed economic policy that undercut a generation and a failed education system that denies children the basic faculties for reasoned thought.

The people who support a man like Nick Griffins grew up in institutionalized poverty. They live in the mining hubs that Thatcher closed and left to rot in the chaos of a freer, privatized market. Ironically, these are the same people who's heritage may well include parents and grandparents who fought at Juno Beach and Pont du Hoc.

As you mention, the situation is not helped by a consumer driven media that no longer attempts to peddle something that resembles balance and integrity.

At the foundation of this argument is an education system that no longer produces a body of students that can think independently and make decisions based on their experience, knowledge and intuition, something you have achieved in this blog. The education system is a factory for quotas of standardized students who will contribute to society through the factors of production, but not develop and evolve with that society nor contribute to that evolution.

Yes, Nick Griffins is a poor reflection of humanity. But those votes were democratically won. You must respect that and understand why he won so many votes. You must recognise the failures of a system that does not sufficiently educate a nation about a genocide and in doing so gives scum like Nick Griffins the lee-way to even utter a holocaust denial and survive politically, let alone as a free citizen.

Crying will get nothing done. Educating people properly and treating them with the basic dignity they deserve in the first place will.

This is a beautiful little poem.
Reminds me much of my Christmas tradition.
And even though its the beginning of summer here...
...never hurts to feel the warmth of the Christmas season.
And you certainly did just that.

Cheri Jacobus... seen her on a few shows.. not very smart. instead of answering questions, she will avoid it and answer something else. and when she is speaking, she expects others to be quiet but when someone else is speaking, she will just interfer in their speech. have u seen the latest one with david sirota on cnn on 20/4/09?

with ladies like her, women can never get far in politics.
